Rising Every Day
I have heard plenty of folks say Christianity is a Sunday thing. You show up. You sing. You shake a few hands. Then Monday hits like a cold engine that does not want to turn over. But the truth is this Jesus life was never meant to be parked six days a week.
Scripture says in Romans 6:4
“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
Jesus did not rise just so we could celebrate one good Sunday a year. He rose so we could get back up every single day.
Any rider knows the road is not always smooth. Some days the sun is out and the bike runs like a dream. Other days the wind fights you the whole way and every mile feels earned. Faith is the same way. There are days you feel strong and steady. Then there are days you are running on fumes wondering if you even have it in you to keep going.
Here is the thing. When you stall out on the side of the road you do not sell the bike. You check the fuel. You listen to the engine. You fix what needs fixing and you ride on. The resurrection reminds us that failure is not the end of the story. Sin does not get the last word. Weariness does not own us. Jesus conquered the grave so we could rise again when life knocks us down.
The enemy wants you to believe that yesterday defines you. Christ says today is new. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in you right now. Not just in church. Not just on Easter. But in traffic. In temptation. In grief. In the long lonely stretches of the road.
Galatians 2:20 says
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.”
That means when you wake up tired. When your past tries to climb back on your back. When the road gets rough. You rise anyway because He lives in you.
So here is the challenge. Tomorrow morning before you fire up the bike or step into your day remind yourself of this truth. Jesus didn’t rise for just one Sunday. He rose so you could rise every day. Ride like a man who knows he has been raised with Christ. Walk like someone who refuses to stay down.
The road is calling. The mission is real. And the tomb is still empty.
